Non-Profit is a web series inspired by working for Social Justice Non-Profit in Portland, Oregon. The story line was created from Luann Algoso and is now forming into a web series. Feel free to check out the official Non-Profit website to learn more.
As the Graphic Designer on this projects and someone who worked with Luann at a Social Justice Non-Profit. This project is very close to my heart. So when creating the official Logo for this project, I collaborated with Luann on what elements she wanted to see in the logo. This turned into a concept about how what most would consider a non-profit to be, meaning a group of big hearted individuals that come together over a common goal.
As more talks and preparation surrounded what could be incorporated into helping to fund the web series, me an Luann decided a digital illustration might be a great way to tell some of the overarching aspects of the Non-Profit story while also using the illustration to sell as a crowdfunding element, and have it be used for social media. In creating the illustration, I had it depict the main character Gabby, a Filipino American working as a organizer for a non-profit that fights for Asian Pacific American rights. Also, Gabby's corgi Atticus (the corgi that fights for social justice) also takes an important supporting role in the telling the story of this web series. Feel free to check out a clip of Gabby and Atticus in their Proof of Concept video for the Non-Profit: Web Series.
